What would happen if you suffered an accidental injury?
An accidental injury can have a huge impact on day-to-day life. If this happened to you, how will it affect your ability to cover household and medical expenses?
ACC’s no-fault scheme covers Kiwis who have been injured in an accident for up to 80% of their income. But people who suffer an injury may find themselves in need of additional short-term financial support to help while recovering.
Accidental Injury Cover
Sovereign’s new Accidental Injury Cover provides short-term financial support while you are recovering from an accidental injury. It's an optional benefit that can be added to any core Total Care Max benefit, and cover can be up to $5,000 per month for as little as $9.50 per month for women, or $12.00 for men.
Who is it for?
There is no requirement to provide financial evidence and it is available for just about anyone. We think that Accidental Injury Cover may appeal to:
- Blue collar workers
- Home makers and carers
- Self-employed
Depending on the type of injury and the treatment required, you may be entitled to claim between 2 and 12 months of cover. The amount paid can then be used to cover any gaps left by ACC or other insurance products.
How we can help
The sum assured can be anywhere between $500 - $5,000 a month with no proof of income required and there is a flat rate pricing based on gender and smoking status.
